“I really need to workout today…” This is a daily mantra of mine. I sit at my desk at 3 PM and visualize my routine when I get home: Daily rundown with hubby and kid. Change clothes. Move my ass for at least 30 minutes…and make sure I sweat. Take a shower. Eat Dinner…blah, blah, blah. And normally what happens is: Daily rundown with hubby and kid. Make everyone in the house agree to eat cereal/sandwich/leftovers for dinner. Watch 14 episodes of Gilmore Girls. Go to bed way after I should. I’m on “GO” as soon as my feet hit the floor in the morning and some days the very last thing I do is want to look at some smiley skinny pop tart yelling at me that I can give her one more set!

So what the f**k is #bodygoals anyway? I love fashion and clothes (ask my BFF Rachel) and being able to walk up a flight of stairs and not feel like my heart is going to jump out of my chest, land on the floor and laugh hysterically at my sad ass. But I also love hanging with my kid grilling him about the latest 2nd grade gossip at school, and watching John Wick (I love u Keanu!) for the 775th time with my hubby, or trying out a really sketchy Pinterest recipe that I pray comes out as good as it looks in the picture. Can hanging out with girlfriends for happy hour, or bible study at church possibly be more important than #bodygoals? Is #bodygoals being so obsessed with working out that you neglect all the other things that make you happy? Or…is it being diligent about making the best choices you can for your body without sacrificing the other things in life that matter most? That time I take to workout when I get home can sometimes disrupt my entire house or ruin any other plans I made.

Let’s also talk about food…and how good it is. There are only so many salads, chicken breasts, and turkey one can consume. I love a fat, juicy burger that drips down my arm. I could eat pizza every day. Bacon..I mean, because its bacon. And margaritas are God’s gift to humanity! You share the best memories with those you love around food. In the kitchen at holidays or when friends get together to hang out there is always good food involved! I have never been one to deprive myself and I do wholeheartedly believe anything is good in moderation.

There is no such thing as having it all…family, career, serving God, a social life, and a banging body. There is no way in hell I am giving up all the good things in my life just to say I am a size 2. So F U #bodygoals!! I love the body I’m in for now, but I will never give up the fight for getting a skinny ass into a pair of skinny jeans! 😛

    1. Thanks for your comment. absolutely! My health is important to me, but there are other things that are good for my health like spending time with family and laughing with friends. That workout can wait until tomorrow 😉
